Dr. S C Sood completed his medical education in 1990 from King George’s Medical University Lucknow and has spent last 26 years working in various hospitals in Delhi . Cleft lip and palate form one of his main areas of interest, he has operated more than 3500 cleft cases and is one of the most experienced cleft surgeon in Delhi. He advocates and practices a team approach for cleft management in association with an orthodontist , a speech language pathologist , social workers and trained staff to help in work. He has presented papers in many conferences on this subject and has also organised conferences with international faculty. He has worked extensively with Smile Train one of the world’s largest cleft lip and palate charities helping the poorest of the poor get best treatment. Presently he heads Plastic surgery departments at Max Super Speciality Hospital Shalimar Bag Delhi and at Sant Parmanand Hospital Civil lines Delhi.
